Artist Talk & Sharing (BigCi Environmental Award): I’m currently in residence at The Bilpin International Ground for Creative Initiatives, on the edge of the Wollemi National Park in the Blue Mountains. The (early) beginnings of a new project are imminent!

Bee-Sharp Honeybee
Very pleased to announce that Sunwrae has been awarded a Sounds Australia Export Stimulus grant, to pitch Bee-Sharp Honeybee at Classical:NEXT in Hannover, Germany, in May this year. This follow on from our news during the pandemic, when Rae Howell (for Bee-Sharp Honeybee) was a finalist in the 2020 APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards, in partnership with the Australian Music Centre.
The World Premiere was held on Saturday November 2nd, 2019, at the Natimuk Frinj Festival…
Bee-Sharp Honeybee is an immersive journey through the secret life of bees.. featuring a string orchestra, live projections, and a real-time stream of honeybees.
Directed by Rae Howell (Sunwrae). Projections by CJ. Bees by Mother Nature.
Bee-Sharp Honeybee magnifies the subtle intricacies of the beehive. Developed from extensive research of rhythm, pitch, and waggle dance patterns, the familiar surrounds of the Natimuk Silos came to life with the 11-piece Sunwrae String Orchestra, synchronised with live projections by CJ (all the way from NYC!), and a real-time stream of local Natimuk honeybees. Well I’ll Bee!
